Fire Suppression Technician
Charlotte Fire Protection (CFP) is looking for a motivated individual to join our team and assist in the fire suppression field. Prior experience in fire suppression service and installation is required, but CFP will provide comprehensive training to help you succeed.

Position Overview:
The Fire Suppression Technician is responsible for providing on-site service to customers throughout the Charlotte Metro area, specifically related to pre-engineered fire suppression systems. The technician will be expected to complete assigned routes, which include installing, servicing, maintaining, and repairing fire suppression systems for our established customer base. Additionally, this role includes the maintenance of portable fire extinguishers and emergency lighting units.
Duties and Responsibilities:
This list outlines key responsibilities for the position, but it is not exhaustive. Charlotte Fire Protection reserves the right to modify or assign additional duties as needed. All personnel may be required to perform tasks outside of their regular responsibilities when necessary.

Maintain a safe and clean job site environment at all times

Work in compliance with relevant codes such as NFPA 17, NFPA 17A and NFPA 96

Follow manufacturer specifications for system installations, servicing, and repairs

Utilize mechanical aptitude and hand/power tools to perform tasks efficiently

Obtain and maintain relevant certifications, including manufacturer-specific credentials
-
Provide strong communication and customer service to ensure customer satisfaction
Additional Qualifications:

Prior experience with fire suppression systems is required
-
Relevant certifications, such as ICC, state credentials, and manufacturer-specific accreditations
-
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or overnight shifts as needed

High school diploma or equivalent (relevant trade school education is a plus)

Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Ability to pass a drug screening and background check
Other Requirements:

Ability to lift 50+ pounds

Comfortable working in various jobsite settings, including customer facilities

Ability to climb ladders and work at heights using lifts or scaffolding

Positive attitude and a strong desire to learn and grow within the role

Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided by the employer, except for safety shoes
